Heifer Program
At Rolling Hills Bank & Trust, we are proud to support the next generation of agricultural producers who will lead the industry into the future. We understand that the future of agriculture relies on innovation, sustainability, and hard work, which is why we are committed to offering financial products and resources tailored to farmers. The Rolling Hills Heifer Program promotes the importance of youth in agriculture and encourages active involvement to develop young farmers.
Each year, Rolling Hills Bank & Trust selects two 7th or 8th grade students to receive five bred heifers each for a five-year period. The students are responsible for the care and management of the heifers. Annually, recipients must submit records of income and expenses, as well as a summary of their efforts to promote the Heifer Program in their community. At the end of the five years, the current cash equivalent value of five heifers must be paid back to the program.
Applications are due October 31 of each year. To apply, applicants and parents must respond to the questions listed below the video and submit the applications to a local Rolling Hills bank branch or mail to 1307 East 7th Street, Atlantic, IA 50022.
